OCR Free for 7 Days with MBB Trial

Platform: Mobile, Web

New users who start the ₹2 myBillBook trial can now use Scan & Record (OCR) free for the same 7-day trial period, without a separate signup or additional ₹2 payment.

What’s new

  • OCR is automatically unlocked when eligible new users start their MBB trial.

  • Available on both mobile and web.

  • No need to separately open OCR, provide consent again, or pay another ₹2 to try it.

  • The OCR trial now runs for the same 7 calendar days as the MBB trial.

  • Once the free trial ends, users need to purchase an eligible plan to continue using OCR.

This experience is currently being rolled out as an experiment. Users in the control group will continue to see the existing ₹2 / 14-day OCR trial.

Existing users who have already purchased OCR will not be affected.

Pay Now Hidden Until Paylink Approval

Platform: Web

Customers will no longer see the Pay Now option on invoices if the merchant’s PhonePe Paylink is still awaiting approval.

This prevents customers from reaching the “This payment option is not available yet” error and ensures the payment option is shown only when it is ready to use.

Edit and Link Online Payments directly from the Online Payments List

Platform: Web

Managing online payments now requires fewer steps.

Merchants can now edit a payment or link it to an invoice directly from the Online Payments list, without first opening the corresponding Payment In entry.

  • Each online payment now clearly displays its linking status:

    • Auto-linked – Automatically linked through the invoice QR.

    • Linked – Manually linked by the merchant.

    • Link – Payment is not yet linked.

  • Clicking Link lets the merchant select the invoices against which the payment should be adjusted.

GSTIN Duplicate Warning During Party Creation

Platform: Web, Desktop, iOS

myBillBook can now warn users when the GSTIN entered while creating a party already belongs to another party.

This helps identify potential duplicate party entries before they are created.

In addition to the existing mobile-number duplicate check, myBillBook now also checks for duplicate GSTINs.

Web

  • Duplicate warnings appear at the top of the Add Party window.

  • GSTIN warnings take priority if both GSTIN and mobile number match.

  • Click View to open the existing party profile in a new tab.

Desktop

  • Follows the same warning behaviour as Web.

  • Clicking View closes the Add Party window and opens the matched party in the same window.

iOS

  • GSTIN and mobile-number warnings appear below their respective fields.

  • If both details match the same party, only the GSTIN warning is shown.

  • If they match different parties, both warnings are displayed.

The same duplicate checks also apply when quickly adding a party during supported invoice creation flows.

Note: Duplicate warnings do not block party creation. Users can still continue and save the new party if required.

Improved Party Ledger Table Layout

Platform: Web, Desktop

The Ledger (Statement) table on the Party Details page now adjusts better to the available screen width.

What’s improved

  • Reduced horizontal scrolling.

  • Important columns such as Balance and Due Date remain easier to access.

  • Dates, invoice numbers, and other values may automatically wrap onto a second line when space is limited.

This makes the ledger easier to review across different screen sizes.
